SURA Arts Academy - Summertime Youth Workshops: Street/Architecture Photography

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday August 7

10:00 AM  –  2:00 PM

The Arab American National Museum (AANM) is pleased to introduce the program for SURA Arts Academy Fall semester, where students will learn and be immersed in the art of photography! AANM's oldest running youth program, SURA Arts Academy helps students learn about the power of photography as a tool to share their story with the world.

We are merging two major themes into this semester's SURA Arts Academy - Futurism and Environmentalism. In this online 10-week course, youth will explore elements of futurism, healing and environmentalism through the lense of a camera and imagine what a green future looks like in their community.

For the first time, students will be given DSLR cameras to be used for class, supplied by AANM! For students joining us outside of the metro Detroit area, a DSLR camera is required. All classes will take place online zia Zoom. This class is designed for students ages 13-18. Each day will be full of activities, photo scavenger hunts, and snapping breathtaking photos! No experience necessary.
